Lytocaryum weddellianum seeds

Common name: Miniature Coconut Palm

A very attractive solitary species that only grows to about two metres tall. It has finely pinnate leaves and produces fruit that looks like miniature coconuts, hence the common name. Whilst it likes a sunny position, it can be grown in indirect light, so it's size makes it a possible indoor plant providing it is given a position with plenty of light. It will take a few degrees of frost, but would need protection in most cool temperate gardens.
