Common name: Hardy Sago.
This Cycad from Southern Sichuan and Yunnan Province is often subject to heavy winter frosts in habitat. Slightly larger than the Cycas revoluta (King Sago), growing to over 3.0m (10') tall with 1.2m (4') long leaves, which exhibit a bluish hue. An easy plant for many areas as it is quite drought tolerant, but does require good drainage. Probably the best Cycad to try in many cool temperate areas that suffer from wet winters as this is exactly what it faces in habitat.
