Common Name: Ti Plant/Hawaiian Ti.

From Southeast Asia and Papua New Guinea one of the many Cordyline fruticosa cultivars available. Whilst the cultivars vary in leaf colour and shape, the main characteristics are the same for all forms. They are an evergreen shrub usually seen as smaller potted specimens in cooler climates and will be happy in anything from partial shade to nearly full sun, although the leaves are brighter when positioned away from direct sunlight. As mature plants they can reach 3m/10' tall and have a usually unbrached trunk with the leaves emerging from the top. Plants will form clumps given sufficient space. Not suitable for use outside in cooler climates, but can make an excellent potted houseplant for many years, providing humidity is kept up.
