Common name: Bamboo Palm.
From Central America this small clumping palm to about 3m (10') tall forms thin stems resembling Bamboo. Similar in appearance to the other bamboo Chamaedorea species, although not as cold tolerant as microspadix, it will take full sun as an older plant with sufficient water. Will do well in low light situations and being relatively small makes a good container or houseplant. Probably not suitable outside in most cool temperate gardens, but easily overwintered indoors or in a heated greenhouse/conservatory.
